Grants Zebra 
Habitat:   The Grant's zebra is native to northern Zimbabwe through the Sudan in East Africa. They prefer grasslands with a loose population of trees.
Size:   50 inches
Weight:   500 to 600 pounds
Food:   The zebra is not particular with the grasses they eat; they enjoy grazing on grasses, especially the stems and sheaths. This animal's dependence on water keeps it within 20 miles of water holes during the dry season.

Description:   
Zebra are social mammals living in permanent groups as large as 17 animals. Zebra recognize each other mainly by sight. The stallion is the rear guard when the family flees from a predator. Hyena and lion are their main predators. Zebra are a lions' favorite food; one can feed a whole pride (600 pounds of meat, bone, organs and hide). Zebras use their hooves and teeth in defense.
