Dromedary Camel
Habitat:   Originally from Western Asia, but later introduced to Arabia, India, and Northern Africa
Size:   10 feet and height of six to seven feet
Weight:   1200-1800 pounds
Food:   Mainly dry vegitation (grasses and leaves), but occasionally fish

Description:
The Dromedary Camel (Camelus dromedarius) is a large even-toed ungulate native to northern Africa and western Asia, and is the best-known member of the camel family. The dromedary camel has one hump on its back, in contrast to the Bactrian Camel which has two. The dromedary is sometimes called an Arabian Camel. Some maintain that the name "dromedary" should be used to refer only to racing camels.
Modern domesticated dromedaries are used for milk and meat and as beasts of burden for cargo and passengers.
Dromedary Camels eat mainly dry vegitation in the sparsely vegitated environments in which they live, however, camels also have two canine teeth for which they can eat meat such as fish on occasion.
A camels hump is not filled with water but on the contrary it is composed of fat. By burning this fat the camel is able to mix the hydrogen with oxygen and "create" its own water which enables the camel to go for long periods without water. Unlike most animals, camels can drink up to 50 gallons of water at one time, a feat that would kill most other mammels.
