Conservation is the key to species survival. Creation Kingdom Zoo believes it is the responsibility of each human to do their part to ensure our ecosystem operates as it was designed too. From building bat and bird houses in your yard, to picking up garbage along creek banks, or maybe it's donating money to a charitable organization that spends it on preserving wildlife, there is something we all can do. Every second 1 1/2 acres of rainforest are destroyed; if you think this doesn't affect you, you haven't realized that currently 121 prescription drugs come from plant derived sources from the rainforests (25% of the active ingredients in todays cancer fighting drugs come from rainforest plants) and more than 20% of the earths oxygen comes from the rainforests. More than 1/2 the worlds plants, animals, and organisms come from the rainforests. Currently in the U.S. more trees are cut each year than are replaced, we import pulp from South American countries because we have depleted our own supplies. This poorly regulated logging and mining has taken its toll on our local environment as well as abroad. The long ignored greenhouse effect has taken its toll in America as well as abroad. Changing weather patterns and an overall 1-2 degree temperature increase in the USA are all indications we need to make a special effort to decrease harmful emissions.
Together we can make a difference. Species survival is about protecting all living organisms, that includes humans.
