Eurasian Eagle Owl

The Eurasian Eagle Owl is one of the largest owl species with prominent ear-tufts and powerful feathered talons. Active mainly at dusk to dawn, they roost by day in trees or in rock crevices. Eurasian Eagle Owls are skilled night-time hunters. What makes them such skilled night-time hunters? It’s their silent flight, excellent vision and superb hearing. They hunt small mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, large insects and other invertebrates with excellent accuracy.

Eurasian Eagle Owls live in Europe and Asia. They have a lifespan of 20 years and weigh between 3 1/2 to 9 lbs. The size can be between 22-30 inches in length. Eagle owls also have a large range of hoots, growls, chirps, clicks and beak-clacks they use to communicate with.
